Plenty of people have stressful, unsatisfying jobs for decades and decades before they throw in the towel.
Plenty of people sit in front of computers trying to find order and make progress day after day, as the tension grows in their shoulders, and their joints stiffen, and their eyes glass over with tiny red veins streaking the white parts.
Plenty of people sacrifice creative expression for being practical.
Plenty of people feel they must suppress, hide, and lie about who they really are and what they really think just to make their boss and coworkers comfortable.
Plenty of people look at their pay check and realize they’d sold their soul at a discounted rate.
Plenty of people find themselves yelling at their children because they have to rush off to work on a Saturday morning.
Plenty of people wake up at 5am, worried about what they still need to do to make someone else’s dream come true.
Plenty of people have to chase down information in a place where communication is anything but clear.
Plenty of people drink half a bottle of wine every night to numb out the voices inside that keep asking, “What are you doing with your life?”
Plenty of people endure this for lifetimes.
So, how come after just a month, I begged the Universe to help create an exit plan. Why can’t I just conform?
It took a traumatic brain injury for me to finally get out of that job. Read about that here: “Slam! The Story of Hitting My Head”

“I write to open up space for my heart and head to tumble, stumble, bounce, and roll. I write to explore the magic of our world and the power of words. I write to expose the tragic truth of life as well as the authentic abundance and joy. The stories are meant to inspire all of us facing the challenge of knowing and honoring our authentic self in a world of commands and demands.
